Apple Targets PC Market in India, Predicts Doubled Revenue
After establishing its presence in India’s smartphone market, Apple is now expanding its focus to the personal computer (PC) segment. Industry analysts anticipate a significant increase in Mac revenue, potentially doubling to $1.1-$1.2 billion in 2024.
Experts predict a resurgence in Apple Mac sales, projecting a growth rate of over 14% this year, reversing the decline seen in 2023. This growth is driven by increased adoption in corporate and educational settings, despite the premium pricing of around Rs 1 lakh per unit.
Apple’s expansion into the PC market aligns with its overall strategy in India. The company has already achieved a strong position in the smartphone segment, with sales exceeding $8 billion in February. Industry insiders predict continued growth for Apple in India, albeit at a slightly slower pace in the coming years.
The majority of Apple’s India sales come from iPhones, which account for around 90-92% of the total. However, the projected growth in Mac revenue indicates a broader expansion of Apple’s product portfolio in the country.
