YouTube Outage Hits Indian Users
New Delhi, July 22: Google’s video streaming giant YouTube has reportedly experienced an outage in India, affecting numerous users.
According to reports, users have encountered difficulties in uploading videos and accessing the platform’s uploaded content. Additionally, issues have been reported with YouTube Studio, a tool for managing channels and viewer interactions.
DownDetector, a website that monitors IT outages globally, indicates that the problem began around 1 PM on July 22. The heat map shared by DownDetector shows that users in major cities such as Chandigarh, Delhi, Lucknow, Patna, Kolkata, Nagpur, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Bengaluru are impacted.
YouTube has acknowledged the issue and is investigating the cause. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the company stated:
