Doda Encounter: Security Forces Engage in Heated Clash with Militants in Jammu and Kashmir
Doda, Jammu and Kashmir: A fierce encounter has erupted between security forces and militants in the mountainous region of Doda district in Jammu and Kashmir. The clash began on Wednesday and continues to rage on, as soldiers and terrorists engage in intense firefights from their respective positions on high-altitude peaks.
According to officials, the encounter commenced after a joint team of the army, Special Operations Group (SOG), and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) launched a search operation in the forest area of Thathri in Doda. As the security personnel ventured deeper, they were ambushed by a group of militants hiding in the dense vegetation.
Both sides traded heavy gunfire, resulting in a prolonged exchange of fire. The terrain, characterized by steep slopes and rugged cliffs, presents significant challenges to the security forces in their efforts to neutralize the militants.
Additional reinforcements, including additional troops and specialized units, have been deployed to the encounter site to bolster the offensive against the terrorists. The situation remains tense as the security forces strive to eliminate the militants and restore normalcy in the area.
The encounter comes days after a similar clash occurred in the same district, where three militants were killed by security personnel. The ongoing operation underscores the persistent threat posed by militancy in the region and the unwavering resolve of the security forces in combating it.
