BJP Assigns ‘Tiger of Kolhan’ to Strengthen Position in Jharkhand
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has entrusted the responsibility of strengthening its position in Jharkhand to senior leader Champai Soren, known as the ‘Tiger of Kolhan’.
Soren, a former Chief Minister of the state and currently an MP from Rajmahal, has been tasked with expanding the party’s base in the Kolhan region, comprising East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, and Seraikela-Kharsawan districts.
With his vast experience and strong base among the indigenous communities in the region, Soren is expected to play a pivotal role in bridging the vote gap with the ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM).
The BJP is aiming to improve its performance in the upcoming Assembly elections in Jharkhand, scheduled to be held later this year. The party has been actively engaged in strengthening its organization and outreach programs in the state.
Political analysts believe that Soren’s appointment will give the BJP an edge in the Kolhan region, where the JMM has been a dominant force for several years. It remains to be seen whether Soren can successfully lead the BJP’s charge and help the party make significant gains in the crucial region.
