Share Market Today: Sharp Intraday Recovery
After initial declines, the key equity indices Sensex and Nifty staged a remarkable intraday recovery on Thursday. By 10:30 AM, the BSE Sensex had surged by 115 points to 80,831, while the NSE Nifty50 was up by 24 points to 24,637.
Stock Performance on Sensex
HUL, Bajaj Finserv, SBI, TCS, Nestle, and IndusInd Bank were among the early gainers on the 30-share Sensex platform. Conversely, UltraCemco, Adani Ports, Tata Steel, Asian Paints, NTPC, and Tata Motors witnessed declines.
Broader Market Movement
The BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices had initially plunged by up to 1.55%, but later pared their losses to trade 0.7% lower.
Sectoral Performance
Within sectors, Nifty IT advanced by 0.4%, followed by Nifty Bank and FMCG, both gaining 0.3%, and Nifty Financial Services, which rose by 0.2%.
Global Markets and Other Updates
Asian markets experienced mixed reactions, with Seoul, Tokyo, and Shanghai declining, while Hong Kong gained. The US markets had closed mostly lower on Wednesday. Global crude benchmark Brent crude climbed by 0.35% to $85.38 a barrel.
Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) injected Rs 1,271.45 crore into Indian equities on Tuesday.
